Review

The newest Barbie DreamHouse is bound to create some serious envy—even among the adult set. Three storeys, an open-air elevator and a pool (with slide!) are just a few of the design-show-worthy features in this version of Barbie’s mansion. It takes a bit of time to build the plastic structure, but measuring in at 36 inches tall by 48 inches wide, the end result is worth it. With lots of fun sounds (such as a flushing toilet and sizzling frying pan) plus five pieces of transforming furniture, this house has it all. We like that the plug-and-play design keeps little pieces in place as small hands move around—other than the utensils, which don’t stick to the table. But overall, there’s a reason why iterations of Barbie’s DreamHouse have been popular for years: they encourage independent play like few toys do. What will Barbie and her pals do today? Your child’s imagination is the only limit.

The attention to detail that was put into making this toy is amazing. It comes with tons of furniture and accessories. Every time my kids' friends came over, they were immediately drawn to the toy and they played for hours!” —Stephanie, mom of one
