Some moms walk away from pregnancy with nary a stretch mark in sight. The rest of us are “blessed” with those little white lines, or sometimes even massive “tiger stripes,” and while we know we’ve earned them, that doesn’t mean that we really want them. There are many stretch mark creams and treatments available to help reduce the appearance of the lines, so we recruited a team of mom testers to find out which ones work best. After trying Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy out for a few weeks, moms told us it produced promising results.
Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy is a luxurious, lightweight cream that leaves your skin feeling super hydrated. Our mom testers gave this product lots of positive feedback, and commented that it was a high-quality cream that had worked for them where other creams hadn’t. One mom said that she saw results fairly quickly when applying it to a new stretch mark that was forming.
Our mom testers all said that this product was easy to use, made their skin feel softer immediately after use, and absorbed quickly enough to be comfortable under their clothing. Most importantly, all our testers said that Mederma lessened the appearance of their stretch marks and of existing scars. One mom even said that after using the cream she felt less self-conscious about her stretch marks.
Though this cream is on the higher end of price points for stretch mark products, our mom testers thought it offered good value because it was effective and a little went a long way. All of the testers said that they’d buy this product—in fact, when asked about buying it, one mom enthusiastically wrote, “Hell yes! Oh my goodness, yes!” There are always products that are worth splurging on, and that certainly seems to be the case with this one.
It’s worth noting that this stretch mark cream has a quite strong fruity floral fragrance. The smell isn’t unpleasant, but it lingers, and could cause issues for people with scent sensitivities. One of our mom testers said that while she’s not a fan of the scent, she liked how the product performed so much that she’d use it anyway. Another mom noted that she experienced some skin sensitivity—redness and itchiness—the first few times she used this product, but after continuing use for a few days she was fine. Everyone’s skin reacts differently to products, but it’s something to keep in mind if yours is sensitive.
Both our editors and parent testers were seriously impressed with Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy. They liked its consistency and the way it went on the skin, and moms loved how effective it was on their stretch marks. All of our testers gave it good or very good ratings for quality and ease of use, and all but one tester rated the value as good. Most importantly, every single one of the moms who tried out this stretch mark cream said they’d buy it because of the results and the fact that a little goes a long way.
