Made with colloidal oatmeal to soothe, emollient pure oat essence to soften and ceramides to protect, the Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream promises to relieve the itchiness, dryness, redness and irritation caused by eczema. After testing the cream in our Today’s Parent Approved lab and collecting feedback from our parent testers, we found that this cream lives up to its promise.
When your little one has eczema, you want a cream that works, and most of our parent testers were pleased with how effectively and efficiently Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream soothed their child’s eczema. Most found their child’s skin was less itchy and more moisturized soon after the cream was applied. After a couple days of regular use, most found their little one’s skin appeared less red and irritated. One mom, who also struggles with sensitive skin, found this cream worked to keep her moisturized without any irritation as well. (Who doesn’t love a product the whole family can use?) All but one tester was happy with how quickly they saw improvement, and felt this Aveeno Baby cream did a good job of tempering their little one’s eczema.
Not only were parents impressed with the effectiveness of this cream, our editors were impressed with how easily it spread over skin and how quickly it absorbed. Almost gel-like in its consistency, Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream feels light and slippery as you apply it. When we applied a dime-sized amount of the cream to skin in our Today’s Parent Approved lab, we found that it formed a definite barrier, but it didn’t feel tacky like some barrier creams do. An hour later, our skin felt noticeably softer and hydrated. Most testers also found it easy to spread the cream over irritated skin without any tugging and felt that the cream didn’t leave a greasy residue on their child’s skin.
Due to this cream’s spreadability, we found a little bit goes a long way, which means you’ll want to be careful not to squeeze out too much product when dispensing the cream from the bottle. A few parents found that the bottle made this a little bit difficult, and suggested a pump cap may be easier. That being said, parents still rated the cream’s ease of use as good to very good.
When we compared the cost per 100 millilitres of each eczema cream in our lab, the Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream had one of the lowest price points of the eczema creams we tested. Most parent testers believed the effectiveness of this cream added to its value and said they’d purchase it. One mom in particular found the product worked well in conjunction with Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Nighttime Balm to soothe her child’s eczema.
Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream did not disappoint when it came to relieving the stubborn symptoms of eczema. Soothing itchiness, dryness, redness and irritation, this cream proved an effective daytime moisturizer for kids with eczema. While one tester didn’t find this cream effective for her baby’s skin, all others said they would recommend this cream to other families and felt that it’s worthy of the Today’s Parent Approved seal. For its ability to soften and soothe skin with minimal residue, all in one neat and tidy bottle—and at a budget-friendly price—we had to agree. As a daily daytime moisturizer, the Aveeno Baby Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream does away with discomfort so little ones can get back to all that discovering.
