Disposable diapers might be small in size, but boy, are they a big deal. With so many choices ranging in style, stretch and skin feel, finding the right diaper for your baby is no easy task. Enter Huggies Little Snugglers, a diaper that’s easy to secure and super soft against baby’s delicate skin. Its cushiony lining absorbs liquids quickly, while the pocketed waistband helps prevent leaks. With eight sizes to choose from (from premature to 36 pounds and up), this fragrance-free diaper even has an easy-to-read wetness indicator that changes colour from yellow to blue, so there’s no guessing when it’s time for a diaper change.
There’s nothing graceful about what happens in a diaper, but a reliable product that takes care of the situation is a lifesaver for parents. To put this diaper to the test, we poured coloured water into the diaper's core to help visualize the Huggies Little Snugglers' absorption ability and also to see how the liquid distributes throughout its lining. Our test revealed the top layer stays noticeably dry, while the liquid was absorbed quickly and spread fairly evenly—although we noticed a heavier concentration of liquid down the middle.
To test for nighttime performance in our lab, we placed half-a-cup of water in the diaper, placed a weight on it to simulate a sleeping child, and let it sit overnight. Come morning, the diaper's exterior felt a tad damp (common with most diapers we tested) and the liquid concentrated in the diaper's centre. The diaper's leg cuffs were completely dry, giving us faith in the core absorbency of these diapers and their ability to prevent major overnight messes.
At home, all our parent testers were happy with the amount of liquid this diaper is able to hold, and they feel confident using it overnight. Our parent testers also reported little to no leakage, and in the case of poop blowouts, the majority reported that this diaper was able to contain the mess.
Diaper stretch is super important, not only for your baby’s ability to move, but also for a more secure fit to avoid leaks. Although the front of this diaper's waistband is solid, the back has ample stretch and the sides have a decent amount of give, too.
Inside the diaper, the thick, soft liner is gentle on tender skin, and none of our wee baby testers experienced any skin irritation. Plus, Huggies Little Snugglers premature to size two offerings are extra cozy, with a special pillowy liner designed to give young babies another protective layer between their skin and the mess beneath them.
For all that these Little Snugglers absorb, our parent testers noted this diaper doesn’t grow bulky, which kept babies comfortable even when wet. The majority of our parent testers found the tab belts strong and secure, and none noticed their baby tugging on the waistband (often an indication that the fit is off).
Most of our parent testers found this diaper easy to put on and remove from their little ones. Thanks to the wetness indicator line that's yellow when the diaper is dry and blue when it's wet, all but one tester said it was easy to tell when it was time for a change. The diaper's tabs are easy to secure and release and are also adjustable, stretching to accommodate a larger fit without thinning out or becoming less secure. (It should be noted that in the lab, we accidentally ripped a tab off, forcing us to discard the diaper altogether.)
Because most parents won't invest in diapers if they don’t deliver the biggest bang for your buck, we tested a lot of diapers in our lab to make sure you get your money's worth. Huggies Little Snugglers are a mid-price range diaper, and all but one of our testers felt they offer very good value for money (and that one tester rated the value as good). The majority of our parent testers said Huggies Little Snugglers performed better than other disposable diapers they’ve used in the past.
From its cushiony liner to superior absorption ability, Huggies Little Snugglers makes it easy to keep the mess contained while your baby stays nice and comfortable. Our parent testers rated this diaper's overall quality as very good, with one parent highlighting the wetness indicator as incredibly helpful so there’s less sniffing or waiting for baby to cry. Testers unanimously said they'd recommend these diapers to other parents, and they also felt that Huggies Little Snugglers deserve the Today's Parent Approved seal. Given this diaper's performance in our lab tests, we couldn't agree more.
