With singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s Eras tour coming to only two Canadian cities, finding tickets is a challenge. Luckily, there are plenty of all-ages events perfect for Swifties—and their parents—to get a taste of the Eras experience.
Toronto’s Version: Taylgate ‘24 is a pre-concert event open to all. Fans are invited to get makeovers, create bracelets, buy merch and more at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s North Building between 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. A dance arcade and photo installations are sure to entertain little Swifties while parents hang out in the waiting lounges. For those who scored concert tickets, the event is a five-minute walk to the Rogers Centre.
Some of Canada’s top indie artists are coming to The Rec Room to perform songs from every era at Feeling 22: A Live Tribute to Taylor Swift. The 3 p.m. afternoon show invites all ages to hear the hits, the deep cuts and tracks From The Vault. There is limited seating but plenty of standing room to Shake it Off. Consider bringing hearing protection for the younger Swifties.
Lush Cosmetics at Yorkdale is hosting an hour-long event where fans can listen to Taylor Swift's discography while creating their very own Lush bath bomb. Attendees will also leave with two friendship bracelets. Come dressed as your favourite Era between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
The Bata Shoe Museum wants Swifties of all levels and ages to dance the night away dressed as their favourite Era at their Taylor Swift Fan Night. Whether you come in a Wildest Dreams-inspired white dress or in a bold Reputation-themed ensemble, you’ll find lots of fans to sing along with. In addition to the dance party, bracelet-making and photo stations will be available from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The museum notes that anyone who wishes to consume alcohol will be carded and wristbanded by security at the door.
Taylor’s Story, a Taylor Swift tribute concert, is coming to The Arena at TD Place along with Simply Spice for a double header show. The group’s website says it's like having a front-row seat to the Eras Tour and a Spice Girls reunion all in one day. Doors will open around 1:45 p.m. Arrive before the family-friendly 3 p.m. show to enjoy a Taylor Swift look-alike costume contest, face painting, photo booths and more. A portion of the proceeds will benefit CHEO and the Kids These Days campaign.
A Tribute to Taylor Swift is coming to King’s Theatre for a 7:30 p.m. show complete with replica costumes, audience participation and dancers. The show is described as incredibly authentic and suitable for all ages. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Bring young Taylor Swift fans to The Messy Moose Kids Arts Studio at 5:30 p.m. for a Swiftie Style Party. Get ready to make custom T-shirts, craft friendship bracelets and sing your hearts out. The studio’s website says this drop-off event is, “A night of fun, friendship, and music, with plenty of pizza to keep the energy going.”
Ages eight and up are invited to the Medicine Hat Public Library for an 8:30 p.m. showing of Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift. Hear your favourite pop star's hits performed by a string quartet in a unique venue glowing with candles. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Taylor Swift Era’s Karaoke Trolley Tour—hosted by The Great Canadian Trolley Company—will take singing Swifties around some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The tour will depart from Canada Place at 3:30 p.m. before heading to Stanley Park, the Totem Poles, Prospect Point and the Olympic Village before ending at Library Square.
An everyone-welcome event at Kelly O'Bryan's Pub is hosting a Swiftie music bingo night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sing, dance and test your knowledge of the eras for a chance to win prizes. Round one will include a mix of hits; round two will be all Taylor Swift.
Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift is coming to The Majestic Theatre for a night of Swift hits performed by Listedo String Quartet. Ages eight and up are invited to hear songs from Lover, Red, Midnights and more. Attendees under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The program will begin at 8:45 p.m.
