Recall: Gerber Good Start infant formula

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported a recall of Gerber® Good Start® Infant Formula, claiming the product may have an unusual odour, and that gastrointestinal complaints have been issued.

The recall is limited to one manufacturing code and expiry date, as follows:

Expiration date: March 5, 2013
Batch: GXP1684

It hasn't yet been confirmed that the recalled batch has been distributed in Canada — but our source for this recall, Health and Safety Watch, has opted to err on the side of caution and release this report to Canadian consumers.

Consumers who have purchased the batch code and expiration date above are advised to contact the Gerber Parents Resource Center at 1-800-487-7763 to replace their formula.
