New First Response pregnancy test syncs your results with your phone.
Thanks to a tiny, disposable Bluetooth module in the pee stick, the new First Response Pregnancy PRO app-ifies the experience of finding out if you’re pregnant.
Here’s how it works
You enter the date of your last menstrual period into the app, and indicate if you’re actually trying to get pregnant. You pee on the stick and Bluetooth connects to the app, which lets you know when the sample has been detected. While you wait out the longest three minutes of your life, the app offers to educate you with pregnancy info, calm you down with a soothing meditation, or entertain you with videos of puppies.
Your result is a clear yes/no, along with a personalized response based on if this is welcome or not-so-welcome news.
If your result is positive, your due date is calculated, and you have the option to share via e-mail or text. You can also access a pregnancy tracker with week-by-week information about your baby’s development.
If you’re not pregnant, the app offers you info on how to optimize your chances of conceiving. A cycle tracker also helps you figure out your fertile days so you know when it’s time to try again.
The test can detect a pregnancy as early as six days before your missed period, and will be available in Canada in April.
