Isaac is the main character of Melanie Walsh's new book, Isaac and His Amazing Asperger Superpowers!, which tries to explain Asperger syndrome—a type of autism—to kids in a way that's easy to understand. The story is based on Walsh's personal experience with her on-the-spectrum son.
"I wanted to write a book that explained Asperger syndrome to classmates, friends, and relatives in a simple, gentle, and positive way," says Walsh. "Children who have ASD do have challenges, but also many amazing strengths."
