Soon after my twins were born, we discovered that one of our girls had a “sensitive stomach” to milk. This is what the doctor called it anyway—a food intolerance that wasn’t quite a full-blown intolerance.
Fast-forward to today and my daughter can have regular cow’s milk, but sometimes it causes mild discomfort. For this reason, it’s best for her to avoid cow’s milk as a “just in case” precaution. However, this girl of mine loves having her daily cereal with milk and drinking a cold glass of milk with her lunch.
Thankfully, there’s soy milk, so her mild sensitivity doesn’t interfere with her love of her favourite foods. I’ve been purchasing So Good Soy Beverage for years now, so it’s most definitely approved by this parent!
So Good is made from non-GMO soybeans and is loaded with calcium and fortified with essential nutrients, such as vitamins B12 and D. It’s a beverage that my growing and active child needs in her diet.
While my other children can and do have cow’s milk, they enjoy the occasional glass of So Good. They love the creamy taste and get so excited when I purchase So Good in Vanilla and Chocolate as a treat.
As for myself, I’m watching my calorie intake a lot more these days after a winter of indulging in my favourite comfort foods, so I’ve been drinking the Light Vanilla variety. It’s only 90 calories a glass and just sweet enough to satisfy my cravings.
There are so many varieties of So Good, and each one is unique. You'll definitely find one—or three—flavours you'll love. Plus, with the rise in food allergies and sensitivities, parents will be pleased to know that it’s free of gluten, cholesterol, animal products and lactose, as well as low in saturated fat. So Good fortified soy beverage proudly displays the Health Check logo, as it meets the nutrient criteria established by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
So whether you have a food sensitivity, a food intolerance or just a plain preference for soy milk, So Good is a great option that’s available for a very reasonable price at most Canadian grocery stores.
