Here are four looks that stole the show at last night's Grammy Awards
Most of the attention at last night's Grammy Awards show went respectfully to the Whitney Houston tragedy.
But some stars still managed to steal the spotlight, for good and not-so-good reasons. Before we start, go ahead and check out my gallery of parent fashions on last night's red carpet! And now check out some of the celebs who aren't parents, but whose fashions cannot NOT be mentioned.
I'm very forgiving when it comes to celebrities, and, I'd say, people in general. So "thug life" or not, Rihanna (left) looked elegant, conservative and perfectly together in this stunning black gown, which was apparently a collaboration between her and Emporio Armani.
"I wanted something a bit Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface, simple but sexy and a little gangster at the same time," she told E! Online (on the red carpet). Hmm..., that explains the hair. Very Pfeifferian.
Despite her grief over the loss Whitney Houston (about which she's been emotionally tweeting), Rihanna had a good night, picking up a Grammy for Best Rap/Song Collaboration for her single "All of the Lights," with Kanye West. Her performances of "We Found Love" and "Princess of China" (with Coldplay) were awesome. What did you think?
Moving on....
How can we NOT talk about Fergie's bright orange, completely see-through Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown? As she pointed out to E! Online on the red carpet, Fergie accented the barely-there dress with Neil Lane jewels. Her best accessory, however, was her mom (pictured below), who seemed amused by the outrageous dress....
Next! Nicki Minaj. I'm actually afraid to say anything about what happened here (I don't want to risk offending anyone!)....
Bahahahaha! (I'm sorry!)
What did you think of Nicki's whole performance (which we now know began on the red carpet) last night? I loved it because it was so TERRIBLE! The whole thing was hilarious. A sad attempt to outdo Madonna and Lady Gaga, but extremely amusing all the same.
We could also talk about the stupid gun dress (hated it) and the one with the yellow "hair" fringes, or whatever that was, but let's shoot straight to someone who actually didn't try so hard, and was just gorgeously herself: Katy Perry. Check her out in her stunning baby-blue Elie Saab dress (it's nice to see she still loves Elie Saab, despite the fact that Elie Saab also designed the wedding dress she wore when she married Russell Brand)....
I'm not sure this photo does the dress justice. But I will say I've never seen blue hair look so conservative and elegant! Lovely!
What were your favourite fashions or moments of the night, Gorgeouses?
Love! xo Haley-O
