New mom Ayan Elmi is raising her five-month-old son, Mikaeel, with the help of her twin sister. And while the majority of her schedule revolves around her baby, she's also working on getting back to her modelling career. This means her wardrobe needs to have major multitasking game. Mom classics like long, easy dresses and loose tunics with leggings are a few of her favourite items. "One thing I've learned is to go with an outfit that doesn't need ironing, because I don't have time for that."

Tip: A big scarf can do double duty as a nursing cover and a maxi dress feels like pyjamas yet looks professional.

Comfort is key

As mom to Jake, 4, and Benjamin, 2, Valeria Lipovetsky's days are jam-packed. For her, comfort is a style priority, whether it's stretchy jeans, a flow shirt or comfy shoes. Her don't-leave-home-without-it tip? Always carry an extra layer. If something spills (and, let's face it, something will!), you can slap a jacket or cardigan overtop and you're good to go. "The boys will come up to me and be like 'Mom, Mom!' and start pulling my shirt, so it needs to be stretchy."
