RECALL: UPDATE: ALL Establishment 761 steakettes & burgers may contain E. COLI

July 1, 2011 to February 15, 2012 may be contaminated with E. coli. Please check your packages for the label left, in addition to the following product codes:

Best Before date: BB 2012 JA 01 up to & including to BB 2013 FE 15; Production code: 11 JL 01 up to & including 12 FE 15; 5-digit lot code: Last four digits are 1831 or greater.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and New Food Classics are warning consumers not to eat specific brands of beef burgers and steakettes because they may be contaminated with E. coli.

The following burgers and beef steaketts, sold across Canada, are being recalled (click the links for product details, UPC #s, etc.), among others that have not yet been identified:

  • Best Value 10 pack
  • Best Value 20 pack
  • Country Morning Beef Burgers, 2.27kg
  • Country Morning Beef Burgers, 1kg
  • No Name Club Pack Beef Steakettes
  • No Name 20-Pack Beef Steakettes
  • No Name 12 Beef Burgers
  • No Name Beef Burger Classic
  • Grillhouse brand beef burgers

The manufacturer of these brands, New Food Classics, is voluntarily recalling these affected products under the supervision of the CFIA.
