Recall: Marin kids' bikes

Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have announced a recall involving 2014 Marin “MBX 50” and “Tiny Trail” bicycles. Due to a faulty stem cap, the handlebars can loosen and detach from the bike, causing the child to lose control and potentially crash.

The bikes were sold across Canada and the US from September 2013 to January 2015.

The "MBX 50" bikes were sold in red with the serial number HA14980XXXXXX. The "Tiny Trail" bikes come in purple with serial number HA14982XXXXXX. You'll find the serial number on a metallic sticker on the underside of the bike's downtube (between the pedals). The brand name, “Marin,” is on the bicycle seat and downtube, and “Tiny Trail” or “MBX 50” on the chain guard.

No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. "In an abundance of caution, we have initiated a recall with the CPSC,” Marine says on their website. “This is a voluntary recall, and Marin has received no reports of any injuries.”
