Health Canada has recalled 61,000 dishwashers sold across Canada over recent years due to a fire risk. The dishwashers affected are Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Kenmore and Jenn-Air brand models manufactured by BSH Appliances between September 2012 and January 2015. They were sold both online and in store.

Health Canada says that the dishwashers' power cords can overheat and cause a fire. While there have been no reports of fire incidents in Canada, there have been five incidents in the U.S., with the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalling 408,000 affected dishwashers there.

A full list of the affected models can be found on Health Canada's recall page with images to show where the model number is for affected dishwashers.

What should you do? If your dishwasher is affected, stop using it immediately and contact the Safety Recall Hotline at 1-888-965-5813 for a free inspection and repair. The hotline is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
