What would you say to a younger version of yourself?

If you could go back in time and interview a younger version of yourself, what would you ask? What words of wisdom would you impart?

Filmmaker and actor Jeremiah McDonald, 32, released a YouTube video in which he interviews his 12-year-old self using old videotape footage he recorded back in 1992. The end result is a hilarious and touching reflection on childhood.

I'm not entirely sure that I'd want to reconnect with a 12-year-old version of myself. Ages 11 to 13 were definitely my least favourite, most awkward years. I didn't blossom from child to teenager very gracefully. But who did, really? When I think of myself at 12 years old I think of big Harry Potter-style glasses, frizzy bangs (girls with really curly hair don't usually rock bangs, I can tell you that much) and frumpy sweaters that hid a rapidly changing body that I didn't know what to do with.

But, in the end, I'd probably just let my younger self know that once 14 hits, life gets a lot easier and that we all have awkward stages we need to work through.
