VIDEO: Teen tells his mother he's gay

If you haven't cried yet today, watch this video of a courageous young man coming out to his mother.

The video starts with Daniel nervously waiting for his mother to come home. She immediately suspects something is up because he called her to ask when she'd be home and he's cleaned the kitchen. Mom keeps pressing Daniel for information ("Are we having a guest? What's going on? I can tell something's going on! I can tell by the way you're looking at me!") Daniel keeps denying something's up, then finally drops the bomb at 2:21: "I'm gay."

What follows is probably the best parent reaction to a child coming out ever: a hug and the words "I'm so proud of you" and "I love you." Mom goes on to talk about it with Daniel, saying that she had a suspicion he might be gay. She also mentions that she's concerned, because there's prejudice in the world.

I think Daniel's mom wins Parent of the Year.
