Peter wants to know how young is too young for kids to have televisions in their rooms
Addy playing at Auntie Shayna's house. The minute she walked in the door she asked Lisa's sister to put the TV on.
Judging by what I was listening to late last week on the radio, I’m going to assume that this is a hot-button topic with most parents. I want to know how old you think is appropriate for kids to have a TV in their bedroom. According to the stats I heard, a third of all three-year-olds have a TV in their room.
Lisa and I have discussed this a few times (discussed, not argued about) and she thinks Addy is still much too young for an LCD mounted on her bedroom wall. Frankly I don’t know if I agree or disagree; all I know is that a couple of Little Einstein’s shows in her room with the door shut would give us a nice 40-minute break when we need it. That said, I never had a TV in my bedroom…until I was in my thirties and moved in with Lisa. She got one when she was 13 or so and has had one in her room since.
Does your child have a TV in her bedroom? How long has she had it for? Do you think three is too young?
