Hunky actor Javier Bardem was 41 when he and his wife, Penelope Cruz, welcomed their first child, Leo.

Now 44, Javier’s getting ready to be a new dad again. He and Penelope are expecting baby No. 2 this summer.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt, 49, first became a dad at age 43 — when he officially adopted Angelina Jolie’s kids Maddox and Zahara in 2006; they later went on to adopt their son Pax together.

Brad had his first biological children over 40, as well: He was 43 when Shiloh was born, and 45 when twins Knox and Vivienne were born.

Jay-Z Carter

Rapper/producer Jay-Z was 42 when he and Beyonce welcomed their first child, Blue Ivy, on January 7, 2012.

Elton John

Elton John and David Furnish welcomed baby Zachary via surrogate when Elton was 63 and David was 48.

Elton is reportedly the baby’s biological father. “He has a god-given talent and wanted to pass that one to a child,” a source says. “And after years of discussion and thought, Elton and David decided together that Elton’s sperm would be used.”

Edward Norton

Actor Edward Norton is about to become a dad for the first time at age 43. He and his fiancé, Canadian film producer Shauna Robertson, are expecting their first “any day now”!

Seal

Seal was 41 when ex-wife Heidi Klum gave birth to her daughter Leni (now almost nine). Seal was considered her father from the beginning (Leni’s biological father, Flavio Briatore, was never in the picture). If you want to get technical, he was 49 when he officially adopted her, in 2009.

Seal had his first biological child, Henry (now seven), when he was 42. He had Johan (now six) when he was 43 and his youngest daughter, Lou (now three), when he was 46.

Beverly Hills 90210 alum Ian Ziering was 47 when he had his first child, Mia Loren (now almost two). He and his wife, Erin, are now expecting their second child this May.
