Everyday Baby - October 2012

I think I may be in total denial that my itty bitty baby is big enough and strong enough to learn to sit up on his own! I love how proud he looks too! He gets lots of claps and cheers from the rest of us and he absolutely adores the praise!

Wes has been trying his hardest lately to get a reaction from big brother. He will squeal or blow bubbles and just sit and wait to see if Will gives him a glance. If he does, then Wes breaks out into the biggest smile. As you can see here, Will is being a little cheeky. He knows that Wes wants him to look his way but he is pretending not to notice. Brothers...

I remember this moment so well. We were all cuddled together on the sofa and I was loving the fact that you were both curled up next to me, so I thought I would take my chance and go get the camera to see if you would continue to cooperate. And you definitely did! You both love to make me very happy!

I had to take the doggies outside for a minute today and I had two little boys who wanted to come with me. So they waited at the front door together. I love these simple, everyday moments that comes with having children. Who knew that such sweetness would wait me while I was on the front porch letting the pups go potty?

Ahhhhh, there are those sweet kissable lips that are straight from your daddy's side of the family. In fact, we both think that Wes has inherited his Great-Grammie Brown's lips. How we would have loved for her to meet both our sweet little boys.  

There is nothing quite as wonderful as a beautiful autumn day. We had so much at the park in the pretty colourful leaves.  

Wes, I think you might have the sweetest little two-teeth smile I have ever seen! You have been trying to show off those pearly whites to anyone who will look these days. I think you are just so darn proud of them!

Wes has been obsessed with Daddy's face lately. He will sit forever and just touch his lips and nose and his absolute favourite… his stubble! I think it is so sweet to see him touching his face and looking directly into his eyes. They have their own little secret bond.

Wes loves playing on a blanket. It is the simplest activity, but he can remain happy there for the longest time. He seems even happier, though, when Will pops over to say hello.

Today was the first day I put Wes' Halloween outfit on him. He makes a super cute little ghost! We are getting excited at the thought of taking two trick-or-treaters out for Halloween this year! We can't wait to dress them in their costumes. I only hope that Will cooperates and actually wears his!

Even though there is not a lot of need to buy Wes many toys right now, I still love to find something special for him once in a while. I love that he adores this little elephant teether I found. It is perfect for him and his sore gums!

He's been giving me that look lately. You know the one that says, "Watch me, Mommy, I'm about to crawl across the room!" I am definitely not ready for this conversation with little Wes right now. I like his immobility. I have enough chasing to do with his big brother these days!

He loves relaxing in Daddy's arms. I think he enjoys the fact that he can sprawl out since he is so long.  

Wes is drooling so much lately that a bib is part of his wardrobe these days!

I love reading to my babies. It has been a little harder finding the time the second time around since I am much busier. However, whenever I get the chance, I love to just cuddle with Wes and read to him. This is my absolute favourite book for babies, Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes. It is such a sweet story.

There seems to be a lot of stimulation with all those toys hanging down. He loves batting at them so much though! Shortly after I took this photo, Will decided he wanted to crawl through Wes' play mat as well. The giggles were contagious!

Will and I went out for a playdate today, and I thought he looked so cute in his little knit outfit that I just had to get a photo of him in it before he passed out due to all the excitement he had!

Wes is becoming very interested in watching Will play these days. Will doesn't seem to mind; however, I hope it is as amicable once Wes tries to be more interactive with his big brother.

What a little ham Mr. Wes is sometimes! I couldn't stop laughing when he stuck his tongue out at me while peeking over his railing. I think he is going to be a comedian, just like Will!

Will was playing with his tractor on the sofa, and when Wes caught a glimpse of it, he just had to play with it too! He wanted to sit up on the tractor just like big brother!

One of my favourite moments every day is going to get Wes when he has woken up from a nap. He is the happiest, most smiley boy when he first wakes up. Such a huge change from Will, who always cried when he woke up from his nap and would continue to cry for at least five minutes. We actually used to refer to him as "grumpy bear" after his naps, although he is much happier these days. It is such a nice change to be met with this sweet face!

Recently, Wes has started eating a little bit of cereal each day. He seems to like it! However, he has to be the messiest baby I've ever seen eating because he constantly has those fingers in his mouth, and then he takes them out and rubs them all over his face and through his hair and then all over his clothes. Sometimes, I wonder just how much he is actually taking in because he seems to be wearing more than he ate!

When I look at this photo, I wonder how in the world I have a five-month-old who is almost as big as my two-year-old. I can't believe how big my baby is getting!

I was playing with Wes today and I had all of his baby toys out; however, he wanted nothing to do with them and wanted to play with Will's truck instead! My baby is wanting to be a big boy already!

I took the boys out in the backyard today to get some photos among the leaves. I cannot believe how beautiful and warm our October has been this year!

This is a new little lamb hat I got and I just had to have Wes model it for me… such a cutie!

Mommy and Daddy got a new king-sized bed for our bedroom. We took the boys in our room to try out the new comforter and to put the new rug on the floor. Will was very excited and was cheering for Wes who was sitting up proudly on the new bed. I thought it was so cute that I caught him mid-fall with the biggest smile on his face. He thought it was so much fun toppling over on the soft bed!

I think these two might be the cutest little sea creatures ever! Will thinks that he and Wes are characters from Octonauts: "Will the Octopus" and "Wes the Lobster". We are looking forward to Halloween this year. It will be such a fun day!

I really thought that Wes was getting his third tooth. I swore I could see something white about to pop through his gum, but it seems to have receded again. I am sure Wes and Sophie will be happy when he finally cuts the next tooth!

I thought his eyes looked so blue today when he was wearing his little blue sweater. We all went to the groomers with the doggies today. One mommy plus two kids plus two dogs equals chaos! We all survived, however, and the doggies got some much needed pampering!

After an evening of trick-or-treating, Wes built up a big appetite. I think this little baby of mine is more than ready to for food! He couldn't keep his eyes off of Daddy's pizza and tried several times to try and take a bite!
