The Brown family learns to keep up with their baby this month as little Wes learns to crawl.
I was putting Wes' Halloween costume away today and thought I needed just one more picture of my little lobster!
Photo: Kerianne BrownWes was having so much fun playing peekaboo among the pillows with me today! He really has the sweetest giggle. Too bad I couldn't capture that sweet sound with my images!
Photo: Kerianne BrownWow, Wes looks so grown up here! I remember Will wearing that jacket all winter long when he was a baby. I have a feeling that Wes will only get to use it for the autumn though. He is growing way too fast for my liking!
Photo: Kerianne BrownThere is nothing better than Sunday morning snuggles in bed together. I seriously didn't want to get out of the cozy blankets that morning!
Photo: Kerianne BrownHe's my gorgeous little helper. I am not ashamed to admit that I decided to forgo folding laundry to play with Wes instead. How could I resist that sweet face?
Photo: Kerianne BrownI don't think I have heard Wes get so excited over something before like he did this Dr. Seuss book! He screeched and laughed non-stop the whole time I was reading it. He is really starting to enjoy storytime!
I am not sure how Will feels about Wes borrowing his high chair. He stuck around the whole time watching baby Wes intently while he ate. I never dreamed that Will would still enjoy sitting in his "chair," and now I wonder if I am going to need a high chair for each boy!
Photo: Kerianne BrownThis where I wanted to spend most of the day today with Wes… in bed! We were both feeling sick with a cold; however, Will was feeling absolutely perfect and didn't have any interest in just laying in bed with us.
Photo: Kerianne BrownThis is where we can find Wes most of the time these days, jumping with the biggest smile on his face!
Photo: Kerianne BrownWe moved furniture and toys out of the boys' playroom today and then added some new pieces. It was basically an all day process with two little monkeys wanting to play and get into everything!
Photo: Kerianne BrownWes turned six months old today! I can hardly believe that my baby is half a year old. I'm hoping the next six months go by slower than the first, but somehow I think that is wishful thinking.
Photo: Kerianne BrownYou can have a room full of toys and yet Wes inevitably wants to play with the package of baby wipes instead!
There is no better smell in the world than a freshly bathed baby. And a baby wrapped in a towel has got to be one of the cutest things ever too!
Photo: Kerianne BrownI love these sweet, quiet moments where all of his attention is directed at me. He will sit there for the longest time, just listening to me talk. I remember Will being so much busier than Wes at his age. I bet he makes up for it later on when he finally gets mobile, though!
Photo: Kerianne BrownWe were just spending a moment together in his nursery this afternoon. He is such a happy boy… definitely the sunshine of my life!
Photo: Kerianne BrownI am so grateful for a baby who, despite being neglected this afternoon for a bit while I was trying my hardest to catch up on laundry, is still all smiles!
Photo: Kerianne BrownSometimes I feel a little guilty that Will has baskets upon baskets of toys and Wes only has one tiny little one. Then I see him playing, cooing and smiling at his little stash of toys and realize that he is perfectly happy with what he has. Soon enough he will be playing right alongside Will in the playroom with all the toys!
Photo: Kerianne BrownWe love the holiday season in the Brown household and especially love decorating the house and playing festive music. It was such a delight to see Wes' face when he saw the tree all lit up! The look of wonder and excitement was sweet. We are doubly blessed this year with our two healthy and happy boys.
Wes is loving his puréed food. I have been making homemade versions this time around; however, he seems to prefer the bottled stuff over Mommy's. He also appears to have a sweet tooth like Daddy and can't get enough of any fruit, especially pears!
Photo: Kerianne BrownA sweet little boy managed to get up on his knees today when trying to reach a toy in the distance. He did a little rocking but wasn't able to move just yet. In time, little Wes, you will be zipping around the floor. Mommy better get her running shoes on!
Photo: Kerianne BrownI discovered that one of Wes' favourite new things to play with is a water bottle! He especially likes when it is half full of water so he can shake it. It's always the simplest things that bring the most enjoyment!
Photo: Kerianne BrownWill thought it would be really funny if Baby Wes sat in an empty box that was lying around the house. I think he was right. We found it funny, and so did Wes! He wanted to stay in there forever!
Photo: Kerianne BrownMy little Wes... the one who most people say is a spitting image of me. He is my patient boy. Today, while I tended and cuddled to Will almost all day because he had a stomach virus, Wes played happily on the floor. He is such a perfect baby brother!
Photo: Kerianne BrownBaby Wes was playing peekaboo from behind the tree today — with a little help from Daddy, of course!
Wes is starting to become very interested in what Will is doing, especially when he is playing with his toys. I love to just sit back and watch him as he stares at his big brother in wonderment. They will be playing together in no time at all. I only hope that Will is accepting of that and shares and plays gentle with Baby Wes.
Photo: Kerianne BrownThis little guy is going to have a special bond with our doggies. He adores them so much. He is always smiling and chatting away to them. And they, in turn, love the attention!
Photo: Kerianne BrownI thought this was just such a sweet and cheeky photo of my littlest guy!
Photo: Kerianne BrownAs much as I think it is so adorable to bundle Wes up in his snowsuit, hat and mittens, I can definitely say that Wes is not a fan at all! The one thing he finds most frustrating is that he can't get those fingers in his mouth when Mommy covers them up!
Photo: Kerianne BrownI am still in disbelief, but for the second day in a row, Wes has been crawling around the floor. I discovered that he could do this new trick when he was chasing his beloved water bottle across the living room. I can't believe that he is mobile… life as I know it is going to get very busy!
Photo: Kerianne BrownWes didn't see me watching him, but I probably sat there for five minutes watching from afar. He discovered his shadow today. It was the cutest thing ever to see him so mesmerized!
