The month of June brings relatives, some tummy time and quite a few stuffed animals to Kerianne Brown and her boys.
"I love every little part of our beautiful baby boy… especially all of the rolls he is developing and all of the peach fuzz that covers his body reminding me that he is so new despite how much he has grown in such a short time."
"My favourite way to hold him close is right under my chin so I can feel his tiny little breaths on my chest. It is even better when he starts to snore ever so softly."
"Oh little Wes, you are wrapping me more and more around that tiny finger of yours lately. I just can't stop staring at you and those big, beautiful blue eyes."
"One memory that faded from the first time I had a newborn was how often I would be changing diapers! This is my view many, many times per day. The one thing I always forget is to have at least three diapers on hand because it never fails that he soils a new one as soon as I get it on; actually, he usually waits until I get him dressed and then he soils it!"
"How fitting that I capture a photo of you on the sofa. We spend many hours a day right in this spot — cuddling, nursing, napping. I haven't even left the house in several days. I know that in a short time we will be getting out more and I will miss these lazy days we spent together in the beginning."
"I was on my way to your bassinet to put you down for a nap when something came over me and I had to lay you down and grab my camera. It was the look of pure content on your face, the way you were swaddled in your blankets, the little gown you had on that shows just how new you are. You simply are amazing, Baby Wes."
"I knew that I absolutely wanted to capture one of you in your bassinet. This is the view I see of you so many times, especially during the night. I love to peek over the edge of the bed and watch you sleeping ever so soundly."
"Baby toes are one of the most irresistible things ever! I find myself taking photos of Wes' almost every day since he has been born. I just can't get enough of them. They have plumped up so much in just four short weeks!"
"What a wonderful day you had, Wes! Your two grandmothers threw a shower in your honour. You were finally able to meet so many of our friends and relatives and you were spoiled with beautiful gifts, warm snuggles and sweet kisses. Here you are in Grammie's loving arms."
"I love when Daddy holds you because you look so tiny in his big arms. Even better is to watch him kiss you on your cheeks and you smile after every kiss!"
"I have discovered recently that you love your Sleep Sheep. You sometimes find it so hard to shut your eyes and fall into a deep sleep and the soft sounds from your sheep definitely seem to help. It is so wonderful to try and figure out your needs compared to your older brother's when he was a newborn. It amazes me how different you are and, yet, there are times when you do something that reminds me so much of him."
"Wes was being so patient today while I was getting dinner ready. I think he was preoccupied watching big brother, Will, being silly! It is definitely different having a second baby. The first time around, you could set the baby down anywhere and not worry about them but this time I have to make sure Wes is safe from big brother if I am not right there. It means that Wes gets carried in my arms most of the time!"
"Wes had tummy time today. He loved it at first but didn't want to be on his belly for too long. He is definitely a strong boy!"
"It was a beautiful day outside. Definitely too nice to stay in so we put on your sun hat and took you and your big brother out for a little outdoor fun. The hard part was trying to convince Will to come back in. I think he would have preferred to stay all day in his sandbox. I bet you will love it just as much next summer!"
"Here we are again in the mirror. This time you are being so observant and looking straight at the camera. You are just so happy as long as you are in Mama's arms."
"We had a little bit of an elephant theme in your nursery so your Nanny and Grampy had a great time showering you with lots of stuffed elephants and lovies. I wonder if you will get attached to them as much as your brother is to his 'sheep-sheep'?"
"Today was Father's Day and so it is only fitting that we get a photo of you with the best Daddy in the whole world. With the way you are looking at him and trying to 'talk' I think that you would be in complete agreement."
"We had company visit today and one thing I have learned in Wes' short life so far is that he is nosey! He hates to miss anything and will literally stay awake the whole day if there is any excitement happening at all! How in the world a newborn can stay awake for that many hours in a row is beyond my comprehension. So, once our company left he passed out from exhaustion. So much so, that he slept with his little hand in the air."
"Wes is getting so strong lately! He can lift his head so well which helps with his need to know everything that is going on."
"There is no better way to welcome summer than to spend it outside, especially when it is absolutely beautiful. I look forward to spending many summer days in our yard this year with Will and Wes."
"Not only is Wes growing in weight and height these days, he is also growing in chins! I love his baby chub so much!"
"We had some last minute preparations to make for Will's second birthday tomorrow so I took a quick photo as we were about to all climb into the van and head into the city. Luckily, Wes hasn't started crying at this point. Poor baby doesn't like being in his car seat when we aren't moving in a vehicle."
"Wes got a new bouncy seat today. He seems to really like the fact that he sits up straighter in it compared to his old one and all of those toys are so enticing! I bet it will be no time and he will be reaching for them."
"I love how Wes is so curious these days and those big, blue eyes look so much like his big brother's!"
It's as if Wes is asking, 'Is this how you want me to pose?'. He just melts my heart over and over again. I love this little man so much!"
"Bath time is becoming one of your favourite times of day. Even if you are fussy, I can be guaranteed a happy boy once you get in that warm water. You are like clockwork. You cry before you hit the water, happy little fish while in the water and then cry when I take you out."
"Here you are in your crib for a quick second while I had to get something in your nursery. You haven't spent much time in here yet but you seemed to like how roomy it was and how you could see everything all around you!"
"Will has finally started paying a lot more attention to his baby brother in the last several days. Before then, he just simply ignored him. He didn't appear jealous but would just go about his day as if Wes wasn't even there. However, he has suddenly wanted to kiss Wes and hug him and act silly in front of him hoping to make him laugh. Not just yet, Will, but very soon he will be giggling at you. I am sure of that!"
"I don't know what it is about my boys but both of them tended to sprout quickly around week four. I look at Wes in this photo and cannot believe he is only seven weeks old and already trying to stand! I need him to slow down just a little. Time is passing by so fast this time around."
"We had a gorgeous day with our family today at the beach. It was our yearly Brown Family Reunion in memory of Wes' Great Grammie. The weather was beautiful and I think all of the fresh air made Wes super tired because he slept so well in his car seat! This is not a usual occurrence. Normally, he is very vocal about his dislike for his car seat."
