The Brown family celebrates the holiday season together with many more firsts for baby Wes.
Wes is doing really well at sitting these days. I still couldn't leave him unattended while sitting, but I think that day will come very soon. He is so proud of himself when he is sitting up tall, too!
We took the boys to see Santa today. Will was so incredibly excited to see Santa arrive at the mall ringing his bells and shouting "ho-ho-ho." Wes didn't know what to think of this big, jolly guy in the red suit. He liked him though! He just couldn't stop staring… such a cute moment!
One of the best reasons I can think of to enjoy the winter is all of the sweet hats and sweaters I can dress on the boys!
He loves trucks, cars, tractors… anything with wheels! I truly believe that little boys are born with the ability to make an engine sound. He far exceeds my ability already and I've had two years training so far.
It was the kids' holiday party at Daddy's work today! It is always a wonderful tradition we do every year and we were so excited to bring Wes this year! Daddy was very proud to introduce him to all of his co-workers.
The first snowfall of baby Wes' life! He loved watching Will run around the yard trying to catch snowflakes. The snow didn't last long, but I'm sure it will be no time at all when we are all out there making snowmen!
I fed Wes yogurt for the first time today! It was a huge step for our littlest boy, considering that Will has a severe allergy to milk; however, he did great and loved every bite!
I went out for a couple of hours this afternoon and left the boys home with Daddy. I was very happy to see this little face greet me at the front door when I got home!
We thought that we were going to have to worry about Will getting into the all the gifts under the tree this year; however, it is the littlest boy who we can't keep away from all the shiny paper and bows. I think he has nibbled on the corners of every present under the tree!
He loved watching the raindrops on the window with me today and especially found it amusing when he saw his reflection in the window. He thought it was another baby and started giggling and talking to himself.
You know those moments when you look at your little baby and you can see for an instant what they might look like as a little boy? I had one of those moments today. It made me happy and sad all at the same time. He is such a joy that I can't possibly be sad for too long though. That smile is so infectious!
I really should have done some epic photo to celebrate the 12-12-12 date; however, we were in full teething mode so there were a lot of cuddles and snuggles today instead. Poor Wes is getting four teeth on the top all at once! We are hoping they pop through really quickly.
What do you do when you have a baby who is crawling everywhere and getting into everything… well, put him in a box, of course! He didn't mind one bit playing in his little toy box and Mama thought it was pretty funny.
It was a regular morning for us. We were getting ready for a day of shopping. No one would have ever guessed that it would become a day none of us will ever forget with the tragedy in Connecticut. My heart has been so heavy ever since, along with so many others all over the world. I most definitely hugged my babies much tighter that day and every day since.
It isn't very often that I see this sight where Wes has fallen asleep in someone's arms. Usually he needs to be in his own bed for naps; however, we are visiting family for the weekend and I think that all the excitement has worn him out. The only thing even sweeter about this photo is that he fell asleep under the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree!
It was a wonderful day of celebration with Daddy's family. There were lots of snuggles for baby Wes, and he didn't mind all of the attention one bit. He is most definitely my cuddler!
The sweetest little helper assisted me in wrapping gifts today! We were very productive, which was a pleasant surprise for Mommy!
I think it is about time we moved that mattress down to the lowest level. I will miss seeing this face peeking over the edge at me when I go in his room, though!
It was a pretty snowfall outside today, so we had a little fun and took some photos in the antique baby carriage. Baby Wes was far more interested in looking at the snowflakes falling though!
I think both boys would have stayed outside all day if I had let them. They both appear to adore the snow, and it was such a mild day today… perfect weather for playing in the snow!
I loved that his little elephant blankie matched his outfit today! I thought he looked super cute sitting on the floor watching me put away laundry. I wish I could bottle this time up. I'm sure I will miss these baby days soon enough!
Someone was having the funniest game of peekaboo with themselves today! The giggles were plenty!
A little winter wonderland baby photo of Wes on the eve of Christmas Eve!
The day had arrived! I think the grown-ups were more excited than the kids. We had a house full of family: my parents and brother, and Courtney's father. The boys were allowed to open one gift from us (jammies, of course!), but then we decided that it would be fun to let them open one more together while they were wearing their first gift. Shortly after this photo was taken, Will hopped and danced around the house so excited for his gift of Team Umizoomi figurines. It was the best reaction ever!
It was a beautiful day and we were so grateful for everything and everyone on Christmas. Out of all of the gift opening photos, it was this one that struck me as the most memorable. The two boys in their matching jammies, sitting together in Will's chair. All the while, Wes trying to grab Will's cup.
Everyone thinks that baby Wes looks just like his mama, but there are days I see a lot of his daddy in him!
I loved catching a glimpse of Wes here with the Christmas tree in the background. We just had a yummy meal with family and were getting ready for a dance game on the Wii. Holidays are the best. I only wish we could slow time down!
Courtney really wanted a photo of himself with his grandmother and the two boys. As you can see, the boys were so cooperative.... I guess that is what you get when they are two and a half and seven months. Please tell me it gets better as they get older!
I think we might have to move to Florida and grow orange trees. Baby Wes is taking after his big brother with his love of oranges. We always have a huge abundance of them in the Brown household!
This is a common occurrence in our house these days: finding the baby with one sock missing. He is on the move so much that he leaves a trail of socks and drool behind him!
How appropriate that the last photo I take of my boys for 2012 is this one. I can see that 2013 is going to be filled with silliness, mischievousness, naughtiness and most of all... giggles, hugs and fun! For the last couple of years, on every New Years Eve, I wonder how in the world the year could get any better and yet it does. I can't wait to see what 2013 brings.
