What do you love most about being a dad?
Spending time with my kids.

Do your kids enjoy cooking? 
Yes. My two youngest do a monthly column with me for the cooking magazine, Everyday Food, and my two oldest are actually developing their own gluten-free cookbook for next fall.

How do you get them involved in the kitchen? 
Well I think when it’s automatically around them they are interested – but you make it fun, engage and involve them.

How do you recommend parents teach their kids to eat healthy?
It has to start from the top.

What are your kids favourite meals?
My son, E.J., loves ribs, Meril goes for mac and cheese, and my two older girls are all about gluten-free meals.

Tell us about your slow cooker and how it can help busy parents?
It’s all about low and slow. You can throw everything in there, go about your day and come back to a delicious meal.

We hear your dad is French Canadian! What’s your favourite French Canadian delicacy?
Poutine (homemade french fries topped with white cheddar cheese curds and beef gravy).
