Diamond rattles? Crystal booties? Designer clothes? Check out the outrageous gifts some of our favourite celebrity parents have given their kids.
Remember last week we heard about 8-month-old baby Blue Ivy Carter's new designer $800 booties? Well, that was nothing. Click through this gallery to learn about some of the most outrageous bling celebrities have given their kids.
But first! If you think $800 booties are a lot for an 8-month-old, check out what else Blue Ivy has gotten: a $600 solid gold rocking horse and a $15,000 Swarovski-crystal encrusted high chair from parents Beyonce and Jay-Z — not to mention two extremely expensive fancy cribs; and a $5,000 Swarovski-crystal-studded baby bath from "Aunt" Kelly Rowland.
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon created two luxurious nurseries for their now 1.5-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe: one in Los Angeles and one in NYC. In one of the nurseries, they installed Majestic Carriage cribs rumoured to cost $20,000 a piece!
The Cannon twins are also said to have a state-of-the-art stereo system at their wee age, diamond-encrusted iPods and flat-screen TVs, and — ready for it? — matching Roberto Cavalli baby outfits.
At the twins' rather formal first birthday party (in Paris), they were showered with gifts: a toy Ferrari, mini piano, doll house and rocking horse. These are the gifts they publicized, anyway...!
Elton John and David Furnish gave their now-1.5-year-old son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, an apartment of his own when he was born. And it wasn't just any apartment: It was a $1,000,000+ apartment directly adjacent to their own.
The family has since moved to a relatively more suitable mansion. And they're reportedly in the process of building an even bigger mansion for their second child (who, rumour has it, is on the way).
Among the many outrageous gifts Suri Cruise, 6.5, has gotten, we have a $100,000 tree house and, of course, custom designer shoes, dresses and bags. At 4.5 years old, Suri got her own credit card and even took her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, out for a fancy dinner.
How much did you spend on your child's last birthday party? Was it anywhere near $100,000? I didn't think so! That's how much Tom and Katie spent on Suri's second birthday celebration. The festivities consisted of two birthday parties, catered at more than $45,000 each by Wolfgang Puck. The house was filled with $17,000 worth of flowers, and the parties were topped off with $5,000 custom "childlike" cakes.
Interestingly, Katie has now taken Suri off the freebie list, and is sending gifts back. So she'll be getting no more free designer gifts....
It's said that Brad Pitt, 47, got his daughter Shiloh two diamond-and-platinum necklaces from famed jeweler Neil Lane for her third birthday. One of them, we hear, is 1.5 carats and worth around $15,000!
It's also said that, when Shiloh was a baby, Brad and Angelina got her this diamond pacifier...for decoration only!
OK, ready for this? According to London's Daily Mirror, when twins Max and Emme (now 4) were born, Jennifer Lopez and her then-husband Marc Anthony employed masseuses for them, and a colour therapist to paint the nursery in the "healthiest" colours. She also gave them a special room to store presents, 600-count Egyptian cotton linens, two Shetland ponies (huh?), and diamond-engraved rattles by designer Babygros.
Oh, and Emme got to sit front row at the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week!
Surprised to see reserved singer Adele on the list? She's reportedly spent $54,000 on "sounds and lights" for her baby's nursery, and over $8,400 on baby clothes, toys and gear — including an antique bear at $7,500, and Tiffany's picture frames and trinkets.
It's rumoured that David Beckham bought a $300,000 Ferrari Ascaglietti 612 with the logo "7" on it for his daughter, Harper Seven Beckham. But it was more likely a gift for himself in honour of her birth.
Now, at just 16-months-old, Harper is famous for her designer clothes. Funny, her dad recently criticized her outrageous wardrobe — Chloe tights, Stella McCartney boots, etc. — in an interview with Google. "Her wardrobe is ridiculous already," he said. "I’m glad I got a two year contract!"
Sandra Bullock's agents got her 2-year-old son, Louis, a $14,000 Andy Warhol painting.... Sandra obviously liked the idea because, just one month later, she bought Louis two collage pieces by artist Patrick Roberts, at a gallery in Glendale, California.

For his son's sixteenth birthday, rapper Sean "P Diddy" Combs allegedly gave his son a $360,000 Maybach sportscar and $10,000 to put in his bank account (which Justin then donated to Haiti) — not to mention the extravagant birthday bash itself at NYC's M2 Ultralounge night club, featuring performances by Lil' Kim and Fabolous, among others.
11-month-old Aaradhya Bachchan, daughter of Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, was gifted with a bassinet designed by two of India's most illustrious — and apparently expensive — designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
And back in March, Dad reportedly bought an Audi A8 (to match the family's traditional "A" names) for little Aaradhya.
Before baby Skyler Berman could walk, he had a whopping collection of designer clothes: 22 pairs of shoes — including a pair of Tod’s loafers, Gucci trainers, Hermes boots and "a lot of Ralph Lauren, of course" — a custom Missoni sweater, personalized Louis Vuitton bag (hello?), and an apparently to-die-for Gucci bomber jacket. To house all these gems, Skyler has his very own walk-in closet. Here's mom, stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe, giving ABC a tour of this truly outrageous wardrobe!
My son has a pair of, umm, Hot Wheels light-up sneakers. He's very proud of them!
