“I spent half the concert watching my little girl watch her hero on stage," says one fan.

Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour arrived in Canada and hundreds of millions of sequins followed. And while people often associate the singer with legions of tween followers, women over 30 make up the majority of Swift's fan base. Forty-five percent are millennials; Boomers and Gen-X each comprise just over 20 percent and Gen-Z accounts for 11 percent. So it wasn't surprising to see the stands at the Rogers Centre in Toronto full of women in their 30s, 40s and beyond—many with young girls in tow.
"I say Taylor is Quinn's hero," says mom Lindsay of her eight-year-old daughter, "but I love Taylor just as much as she does." Here's what six moms (and a few daughters) had to say about Swift's music and influence, and The Eras Tour.
"Taylor Swift's music reminds me of growing up. I'm older than her, but so much of her music resonated with me from my twenties onwards. It is always the perfect example of girlhood," says Lindsay. "I spent half the concert watching my little girl watch her hero on stage."
"She has always stuck up for what she feels is right. She has incredible business acumen, as evidenced by Taylor's Version and taking back what is hers, not to mention the Eras tour and what it has created. She's also been clear that she knows she's made mistakes along the way, but that is how a person grows. I think that message is so important for people to hear. Her commitment to doing her best and her work ethic is also incredible," says Lindsay.
Quinn adds, "All of her singing, dancing and performing. She seems very kind to everyone that she knows and her fans."
"Her music means everything because when I'm sad, happy or nervous, she has a song for every moment in your life. And you can listen and it just makes you feel good," says Eleanor.
Amy says, "While I do like Taylor Swift, it's been great watching my kiddo grow up with an artist—someone she has truly enjoyed from her toddler years to now as a teen. I have videos of her singing "Bad Blood" and dancing to "Shake It Off" as a young child. It's so great to have something in your life that just brings joy."
"The concert was unbelievable. I will never forget that experience. It made me feel like there was nothing else going on in the world. There was just that stadium and all those happy people. I cried when I saw her. I've loved Taylor Swift since I was three and she's been a role model to me, and I finally got to see her," says Eleanor.
"Watching my daughter cry at the concert made me cry," says Amy. "She had such joy. Everyone did. The stadium, the city of Toronto and even the country—it was a complete love-fest. What else can draw so many people together in that way? Music has this way of bringing people together, and the Taylor Swift effect is a phenomenon we have never seen the likes of."
"She’s had her share of setbacks and public humiliations and she always rises up and rises above," says Ruchika. "Instead of staying stuck and angry, she uses pain to create art!"
"Honestly it happened before the concert. I was waiting at the GO train station to head to the concert with my daughter and there were other Swifties there, of course. I noticed my daughter and the girls her age immediately began to trade with the youngest girl there, maybe a five- or six-year-old Taylortot. It was like this transcendent Taylor-inspired girl code that totally blew me away. I’m so hopeful that these girls continue to look out for each other forever—that’s inspiring," says Ruchika.
"At Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Toronto, I witnessed something truly magical. It wasn’t just the music (though that was phenomenal!) or the electrifying energy Taylor brought to the stage (unparalleled, by the way)—it was the overwhelming sense of belonging that made the night unforgettable," says Marie.
"From the moment you walked into the stadium, the air was buzzing—not just with excitement but with connection. Fans of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities came together to share in the joy of the evening. The act of trading bracelets with strangers was such a beautiful, unspoken way of saying, 'You matter. You belong here.' Each bracelet passed from hand to hand was a symbol of friendship and community."
"Taylor Swift’s music holds a special place in our household. Both my daughters listen to her music and it’s a way for them to connect with each other given the age gap," says Tanya.
"The best way to describe the concert is as if a massive glitter bomb full of pure joy and magic exploded in the stands. Everyone was smiling singing along and happy tears were shed," says Tanya. "To see young girls singing alongside more mature women (such as myself) shows that her music really does reach far beyond one demographic." Clementine adds, "The concert was absolutely amazing. I was in awe and the most inspiring part for me was when she got a really long standing ovation."
"Taylor’s music is something that bonds us as mother and daughter," says Kristen. "We both relate to it in different ways. My husband often asks why I love her music so much. In a nutshell, she’s an incredible and relatable storyteller. She tells the stories that many of us have gone through in her music. I often say that the world would be a better place if everyone was as kind and nice to each other as they are at a Taylor Swift concert. You really can’t top that energy."
"My daughter and I had previously seen [Taylor Swift] in Scotland but thanks to the generosity of my dad we were able to go again. It has been a tough couple of years for our family as we have lost both my mother and mother-in-law in the last two summers. From finding our seats to seeing Taylor come on and throughout the whole evening, seeing my daughter’s face throughout the whole night was probably my favourite part," says Kirsten.
