9 fun Rainbow Loom crafts

These quick and easy cuties can be made in so many little designs from cupcakes to flowers. My favourites are the little creamsicles but my girls like the owls. They take less time than a full bracelet (provided you aren’t making mini Eiffle Towers!) and use one small loop to attach to the pencil. Great for trading and small gifts.

These are adorable and can be used as little toys or charms. The boys in my life are certainly being attracted to making these. I’m challenging my kids to make one that we can put a glow stick inside so they actually glow! You can vary the length, too.

We’ve seen complex bracelets with multiple layers, but this one takes things to another level. The dragon scales bracelet is almost like a fish-net Rainbow Loom cuff for your wrist. Make a big rainbow for your wrist or try using darker colours for a super hero cuff.

There are so many different rings to make with the loom. The basic ring is quite simple, but there are dozens that go up in difficulty level from “starburst” flowers to chunkier flowers and other shapes. My kids swear you can attach charms of almost anything small to your finger as well (think pencil topper) if you want to be really creative.

It won’t fit your wallet, cell phone, car keys and lipstick but it will be mighty fun to show off when it’s done. This little wristlet tutorial is not for the faint of heart but the kids just loved making them. There are double layer and single layer tutorials out there but this one is nice and straightforward.

Tired of hair bands that slip? You won’t have that problem with a Rainbow Loom hairband. In fact, quite the opposite. These give girls a whole new way to show off their creations and they can be as simple as a “long” regular bracelet or you can get a bit fancier like this one here.

Why stop at the hair band? One of the first things I thought my kids would do when I started seeing the bracelets churning off the loom was make pony tail elastics. And sure enough they did. Little kids may get them tangled in, though, so I recommend securing hair with a regular elastic and then using a Rainbow Loom over top. These barrette toppers are sweet, too!
