Step 1

Fill simple plastic containers with either shaving cream (shaving gel works too, you just have to stir it to transform from gel to cream) or use a frozen whipped dessert topping like Cool Whip if you think the temptation to put their fingers in their mouth is too great. Fill as many containers as “flavours” you would like to have.

Step 2

Add food colouring choices into each bowl, a drop at a time, and stir (use cocoa to create the 'chocolate' flavour). If you want to go further, add colour as well as scent with powdered drink crystals. Put your finished bowls into the freezer for a few hours or overnight.

Step 3

Create your table and scene. Will you use real ice cream cones, plastic toy cones or cups? Make a sign and invite your friends over. No guarantee this dough won’t end up in hair and all over. It’s so much fun to play with.  Keep the hose nearby!
