Made with foraged materials from the park or yard, plus a few inexpensive items from your craft bin—this sailboat is ready to launch into the kiddie pool or bath.
Materials:
12 to 15 short sticks
camping rope
coloured paper
white glue
scissors
extra decorative items (string, ribbon, etc.)
Plasticine
waterproof sealant (optional)
HOW TO
1 Make a square using four sticks, and glue them into place.
2 Glue sticks across the square to make the base of the boat.
3 Cut a triangle out of paper and afix it to a stick with glue. Set aside to dry.
4 Wedge mast into raft base and secure with Plasticine on the underside.
Add decorations like bunting flags and a life preserver to personalize your boat. Happy sailing!
TIP
Spray the entire boat with an outdoor craft sealant to increase water-resistance. Allow to dry before setting sail.
