Cineplex Is Bringing Back $3.99 Family Favourites
Your weekend plans just got cheaper and easier.

No weekend plans, but need to get out of the house before winter cabin fever sets in? We've got good news. The Cineplex "Family Favourites" program is officially back, offering a lineup of kid-friendly flicks on the big screen for a fraction of the usual price.
Started last month, participating theatres across Canada are hosting special screenings for just $3.99 a ticket (plus tax). It’s the ultimate parenting hack for those weekends when you need to get out of the house but aren't quite ready to drop $100 on a full-blown family outing.
What’s on the schedule? A selection of family movies suitable for all ages. This month, you can look forward to The Smurfs (Feb 7), How to Train Your Dragon (Feb 14), The LEGO Movie (Feb 21), and Rocky’s Cat-astrophe (Feb 28).
How much will it cost? The $3.99 price point applies to tickets purchased in-theatre. If you’re a planner and prefer to buy online, there’s a small booking fee.
What time are the screenings? Family Favourites usually play around midday on Saturdays, so plan on eating brunch before you leave, or you'll blow your budget on popcorn and candy. And remember to check the listings online. Cineplex notes that some locations may offer different days or times, so it’s always worth checking your local listings before you pack the diaper bag.
Are these screenings country-wide? Yes. While specific participating theatres vary, the Family Favourites program is a national initiative, meaning families from coast to coast can get in on the $3.99 action.
