Your kid could hold a canoe paddle before he could walk. The call of a loon is your favourite alarm clock, and you make your own jerky. You’ve been known to portage while wearing a baby carrier. The verdict: Back-country camping is definitely for you. Just remember to take all necessary safety precautions. Young children have limitations, even if you don’t, wild one.

And flush toilets would be a dream. The verdict: Car camping is your best bet. Many national parks have drive-in options or parking lots close to campsites (with toilets) to pitch your tent.
