The best toy stores in Quebec

This must-see store is a one- of-a-kind toy destination in Quebec: Benjo has thousands of toys, books, games and costumes, but it also houses a sweets department, a children’s clothing section, La Bedondaine (Benjo’s ice cream parlour, open from April to September) and the Resto Benjo — a family restaurant, complete with a children’s party room and a spot for ceramic and jewellery-making workshops. If you’re looking for French-language games, this store has a pretty impressive stock. (Find Aqua Belle, Jeu de mémoire Spider-Man and Miss Poutine.) 550 BOULEVARD CHAREST EST, QUEBEC CITY. 418-640-0001; BENJO.CA

What’s not to love about a store full of action figures, building toys, remote- controlled helicopters and all things Barbie? For kids who are really into building blocks and bricks, Funky Toys & Co have dedicated part of their store (and online) to the Brick Republic — a section overflowing with Lego, Cobi and Mega Bloks. 63D DONEGANI AVENUE, POINTE-CLAIRE. 514-674-1914; FUNKYTOYS.NET

Skylanders, Star Wars and Scarface, oh my! No matter what action figure your preschooler to tween has on their holiday lists, you’ll find it at this shop. They have figurines from popular (and not-so-popular) television shows, movies, video games and more. From Team Edward to Team Jacob Twilight action figures and Flintstones figurines, to all of your kid’s sports idols and superheroes, collectors have a ton to choose from. 1539 AVENUE VAN HORNE, MONTREAL. 514-948-2627; TOYSONFIRE.COM
