Launching today is a new kids music app called Jitterbug. It’s the first subscription-based, on-demand kids music programming for your iPads — and with summer around the corner, many families are mentally preparing for those long trips to the cottage or the beach. Hands down, this will be a perfect distraction. Not to mention, it’s good for every day entertainment — like those times when you’re stuck in the grocery store with impatient little ones.
And parents, get this: It’s safe, ad-free and features the best hand-picked kids music out there today. It’s as if I chose these artists and bands myself, featuring rock, pop, hip-hop, rap, folk and acoustic tunes. Your small music lovers will recognize names like: Casper Babypants, The Jimmies, Recess Monkey, Milkshake Music and more. Plus, I have to give a shout-out to my new favourite, Gustafar Yellowgold. His videos, “The Sock Reprieve” and “I’m From the Sun,” are featured on Jitterbug. (Check him out parents — I dare you to not fall in love with him!)
Let me give you a quick walk-through of this entertaining and exciting app: You can choose from watching music videos, listening to full-length CDs or even just clicking on Jitterbug Radio. An artist dropdown menu also allows your little ones to listen to their favourite artists. If your kids are groove-masters, than this is a great new way for the whole family to share in their love of music. Perfect for ages age all the way up to seven years old.
Parents can download the Jitterbug iPad App from the iTunes App Store and subscribers can stream Jitterbug music and videos, directly from the website on their desktop or mobile device. Families can get a free 15-day trial today by visiting www.Jitterbug.tv.
