Angelina Jolie is Maleficent. A twist on the story of Sleeping Beauty, we revisit the classic fairy tale from the perspective of the villainous Evil Queen. We’re already familiar with the story of Princess Aurora and how she spent the majority of her life under Maleficent’s sleeping curse, but the untold story of Maleficent’s upbringing is the one this live-action film takes a special interest in. We learn all about the innocence Maleficent once possessed. After this innocence is vanquished, the wicked sorceress comes to be. This is her story.
