Figuring out the best places to go with kids on your next family vacation may have just gotten a little easier. Budget Direct recently released the top kid-friendly tourist attractions in every country after aggregating data from popular travel platform, TripAdvisor. Some things are pretty obvious—most of us know Ripley's Aquarium of Canada is awesome—but you may be surprised to learn about other attractions kids love, like the Green Iguana Conservation Project in Belize.
While this is by no means a conclusive listing of what's cool across the globe—with one attraction per country, many awesome things aren't mentioned. But, it is interesting to see what got people talking in 2019.
Scroll through to see the maps of kid-friendly attractions in each country:
Most highlights on the North America map (note: this includes the Caribbean and Central America) center around the beach—the pristine Carlisle Bay in Barbados and Veradero Beach in Cuba, to name a few. But if you happen to find yourself in Honduras, TripAdvisor suggests a trip to The Tea and Chocolate Place will score big with little ones.
A trip to Africa doesn't have to be all about the safari—though Devine African Safaris scores big in Rwanda. Based on TripAdvisor reviews, kids are all about the Accrobaobab Adventure in Senegal and the O Lodge in Togo, which has a pretty spectacular waterslide.
Families travelling to Asia will have lots of fun attractions to choose from, like the impressive Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, which is home to three waterfront gardens with stunning floral displays.
A trip to Europe can sometimes feel like an endless procession through monuments and museums. But kid-friendly attractions like Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest theme parks in the world, offers a fun way to appreciate history.
You may be surprised to learn that Oceania has more on offer than just kangaroos and koalas—though, seeing these is also a good reason to head to this part of the globe. In Vanuatu, little ones can marvel at the Nanda Blue Hole, and the Mapu'a 'a Vaea Blowholes in Tonga will blow—natch—their minds.
Depending on when you choose to go, South America can be a great, affordable option for travelling families, and there's a rich diversity of things to see and do. A stop in Colombia would not be complete with out a visit to the Walled City of Cartagena, with Instagram-worthy backdrops, tasty street eats and the chance to spot one of the colourful palenqueras.
