Everyday Baby - May 2013

Wes is so quick! And he leaves a trail of mess behind him. He is obviously very pleased with the new "toys" he discovered.

This is most definitely Wes's snack of choice. He loves these little food pouches so much!

I was cleaning out Baby Wes's closet today and came across a little knitted suit that belonged to Daddy when he was a baby. I thought it would be fun to put Wes in the outfit and take a photo. He obviously didn't share my enthusiasm over the whole idea. Poor baby!

Wes wouldn't stop banging on that window trying to get Daddy's attention. I think he wanted to be out in the yard, too.

Wes had his very first taste of cake today! We took him outside and filmed a little video to remember the moment. Wes thought it was so yummy, but my favourite part was Will screaming "No, Baby Wes!" as he dug into the cake. Good thing I had bought an extra cake for us all to eat the end.

Wes is saying "bye-bye" to me, making it obvious he wants to go outside to play!

It's Wes's first time in the sandbox, and he absolutely loves it! He didn't want to ever leave. I can see many hours spent here over the summer months, and I can't wait!

Wes is looking at me as if to say, "Who are you taking a picture of, Mommy? I'm down here!"  He makes me laugh so much!

He was just rolling on the floor giggling, and I had no idea why but I found it awfully funny, too! And a random thought I had looking at this photo is the fact that Will had this T-shirt on only a few days before. My boys are officially sharing clothes!

What are the chances that I would capture Wes taking his very first few steps! I think it might have been because of the new shoes he had on, because he wasn't walked again since. I was still so thrilled in this moment!

The big day finally arrived... my baby turned one! It was a wonderfully special day filled with family, food, balloons, presents and chocolate cupcakes! Wes couldn't get enough of his cake as you can see from the photo. We are so excited to see what year two will bring. So many milestones to look forward to!

Since I am starting work tomorrow, it was time to get a second car seat for Daddy's car. Playing with the cardboard box was better than Christmas morning!

He found a little sheep puppet in the playroom today and kept hugging him while giggling. It totally melted my heart!

Baby Wes is definitely prepared for all the rainy weather we've had lately.

A room full of toys and he is most content playing with a plastic container.

I knew it was nap time when I found him trying to wrap the blanket around him in his nursery. Wes absolutely adores his sleep!

We were playing outside this afternoon when there was a sun shower. Wes thought getting rained on was the funniest thing!

Wes wants to help take the doggies outside every single time. We always joke that we are training him to take over that duty very soon!

He got a special chair for his birthday from Nanny and Grampy, and he loves sitting in it every chance he gets.

Even though the weather wasn't great today, we snuck outside for a few minutes so that the boys could have their morning snack in the wagon, and they loved it!

Sleepy Wes just waking up from his morning nap. I love his bed-head!

I'm still not sure what was going on here, but I found Will licking Wes's arm, and Wes couldn't stop laughing. Let the craziness begin!

Wes starting walking today, and he is zooming around the house like an old pro. We couldn't be more proud of our little boy!

Oh the shenanigans! Wes didn't want to let go of the truck, so Will just pulled him along the floor.

It was early morning, and I peeked in to see Daddy getting the boys ready for the day while Will's favourite movie was playing in the background.

He loves trying to climb up on the window sill to get a better view of the yard. I worked all weekend and was so excited to see my little family Sunday evening. I miss them so much when I'm not home!

He didn't want to go inside because he was too busy rocking. It's always so peaceful on the front porch.

Even though we were supposed to be getting ready to go to his sitter's house, we were having much more fun rolling the big beach ball around.

He is getting to be such a big boy! He now loves holding his own bottle before nap time.

Wes loves snack time, but it is even better when we get to have it outside on the deck. It has been a long couple of weeks of rainy weather and to see the sunshine was such a welcome treat!

We are having landscaping done in our backyard, and the boys stayed out on the deck almost the entire day watching the trucks and tractors work hard. I hate to see how sad they will be when they are finally finished the job.
