Vin Diesel names baby girl after the late Paul Walker

In a touching tribute to the late actor Paul Walker, who passed away on November 30, 2013, Vin Diesel has named his newborn baby girl Pauline.

Diesel, 47, shared the name earlier today (Monday, March 23), on NBC's Today. "I named her Pauline," he said.

"There's no other person that I'm thinking about as I'm cutting this umbilical cord," he went on to say. "I knew [Paul] was there, and I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my memory, a part of my world."

"I'm telling you this because I love you," he told Today news anchor Natalie Morales. "I know that you are a good soul, and I know this is in good hands."

Diesel announced the birth of his baby girl on March 16, by posting the above photo of himself and Pauline on Facebook, along with this verse from Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World":

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow. They'll learn much more, Than I'll ever know. And I think to myself, What a wonderful world...

Baby Pauline is the third child for Diesel and his girlfriend, Paloma Jiménez. She joins big sister Hania Riley Sinclair, 6, and brother Vincent Sinclair, 4.

Paul Walker died in a car crash at age 40, leaving behind a daughter, Meadow Walker, 16. He and Diesel costarred together in the Fast and Furious movie franchise. At a public screening of Furious 7 (Walker's last film), last week, Diesel reportedly got emotional, missing the costar who obviously had a great impact on him.

"This was a labour of love," he said. "It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother."
