Tom Cruise visits Suri for the first time since split

Two weeks after Katie Holmes, 33, filed for divorce, Tom Cruise, 50, is finally back in NYC. He arrived earlier today, Tuesday, and was spotted carrying Suri to her gymnastics class in Chelsea Piers.

As you can see from the photo, Tom looked happy and relieved to have his 6-year-old daughter back in his arms. (After a month apart and everything they've been through, we can't blame him for carrying her around this time, right, Gorgeouses?) He's finally put his latest film, Oblivion, to bed (the last scenes wrapped up in LA on Sunday), and now he can exercise some of those visitation rights....

"He's been dying to see her," a source tells People Magazine. Apparently, Tom's been talking to Suri a lot, but he hasn't actually seen her in over a month.

From all accounts, it looks like the divorce really is amicable. And, even though it's looking like Suri may be Catholic after all, Scientologist Tom's still going to see plenty of his daughter.
