Some folks may say that pitbulls aren't the best dogs to have around kids, but this pitbull pup is doing her best to prove everyone wrong. Hailing from Stockton, Calif., Sasha, an eight-month-old pitbull, recently saved her family when the neighbouring unit of their fourplex caught fire.

Her owner, Nana Chaichanhda, was sleeping when Sasha began to bark and scratch at the back door in the early morning. Chaichanhda woke up to let the dog in and Sasha immediately raced to the bedroom. "I open it and she runs in and starts barking at me like crazy and I was like, 'OK, this is weird. This is not like her,'" Chaichanhda told the local news.

Chaichanhda said on her GoFundMe page that she was confused for a minute, but eventually realized that a fire had started in her cousin's home, next door. After realizing what was happening, she rushed after the dog and saw Sasha pulling her seven-month-old daughter out of bed by her diaper. It's like she knew just by instinct that she had to save the baby. What a hero!

Thanks to Sasha, Chaichanhda and her daughter were able to evacuate the home and call 911 (Fortunately, her cousin wasn't home that night and no one was harmed). A local reporter tweeted out a video of the fire and it's intense. Take a look:

"I owe [Sasha] everything," Chaichanhda said. "If it wasn’t for her, I would have still been in bed and things could have taken a worse turn." So bravo, Sasha! It's thanks to you that your family is safe and sound.
