If you haven't heard, Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine, and his wife, Victoria's Secret model, Behati Prinsloo, are expecting baby #2 "very, very, very soon."

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the two got to talking about the impending due date, and Adam recalled his rather embarrassing experience in the delivery room during the birth of their first child, daughter Dusty Rose, who was born in September 2016. Being a new dad, many pals with kids were giving Adam advice on what to expect while Behati was in labour. But it was his The Voice colleague, Carson Daly, that gave him sound advice worth following.

"I received a tip from Carson Daly...He has like 400 kids, so...He said, 'You have to eat something.' And I remembered to eat. They say that a large percentage of new dads, when their wife is in labor, they pass out because they forget to take care of themselves and nourish themselves with food, and they faint a lot of the time. I don't know if that's true or not; it sounded pretty official, from the way he told me."

He's not exactly wrong, Adam. Many Dads DO faint in the delivery room. So, he took the advice to heart when it was time, especially because he wanted to be "a pillar of strength" for his wife. "It was good advice," Adam recalled, "but like all good advice, it can be abused and misused."

This is when things took a turn for the worst.

"You know Craig's, the restaurant? I ordered a lot of food, because I'm like, 'I've gotta eat a lot of stuff now, otherwise I'll faint,'" he told Jimmy. He had ordered lots of comfort food—cheeseburgers, pizza—the works. "I just started going at it...What I discovered about myself is that I'm a nervous eater."

He stopped briefly to say that Behati's labor was "slow" but "beautiful," and that he totally "zenned out." But Dusty was in no rush to come out, even though Adam's food was. Upon arriving at the hospital, Adam had downed too much junk food, and his body was telling him he overdid it.

"So, I'm basically bursting at the seams. Like, I'm going to sh*t my pants at some point. There's no other way I can tell you this," he told Jimmy. "But also, my wife is in labor! It's the lamest thing to be [feeling] when your wife is going to have a baby. That's not in any way a viable complaint. So, you've got to just keep it inside, literally and figuratively."

CLASSIC rookie Dad mistake. Carson Daly, you should've been more specific!! So what did Adam do? He held it in and waited for his daughter to arrive.

"I'm like, 'Sh*t, man. I'm just going to wait this out.' Because I could go to the bathroom and come back, and the baby's out and I missed the whole thing. It was brutal. So, I waited, doubled over in pain, and finally the baby came. It was beautiful and it was amazing. The second the coast is clear—my wife's good, she's healthy, everyone's happy—I took one of the nurses aside and I was like, 'Look, you gotta find me a bathroom.' She's like, 'Well, there's one right here.' It was at the foot of [my] bed. I was like, 'Nope, not this one."

"Well," Jimmy joked, "that's fatherhood for you!"

Job well done, Adam. Crisis averted. Maybe next time you'll pack a few extra diapers for yourself (you know, just in case)?
