You guys, fruit salad might never taste as yummy yummy again. After just two years of marriage, Emma Watkins and Lachy Gillespie have announced that they’re breaking up. Nooooo!

In a Facebook post on The Wiggles’ page, the band announced that Emma and Lachy have been going through a trial separation over the past six months, and will now end their romantic relationship. "We have chosen a different path to travel in our personal lives," they said.

When the pair revealed they were dating a few years ago, many fans (OK, parents of fans) had mixed feelings. On the one hand, they seemed like the perfect couple. Their relationship, just like the band itself, seemed earnest and sweet and just ridiculously adorable. But there was always that looming question: What if they break up one day? What would happen to the band? Would it break up?

Luckily, that’s not happening. In the Facebook post, which you can read below, the band assures fans that "we are stronger than ever and we can’t wait to see you at a show soon."

Now comes the invitable speculation as to why the couple couldn’t stay together. Even though it's clearly no one's business, commenters on the Facebook post are raising the fact that Emma lives with endometriosis, and that can affect fertility. Fertility struggles definitely can contribute to the breakdown of a relationship, but there’s no actual evidence that this was the case here. Just as likely a contributing factor is the fact that Emma and Lachy both work and live together, and marriages among people who also work together can definitely become strained.

The Wiggles are touring Canada this September and October. Most shows are sold out.
