Your next Disney cruise just got a lot more magical because the classic "tale as old as time" is coming to the high seas! After the success of this year's live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, Disney Cruise Line will debut its newest musical this November 2017 on the Disney Dream, and we  got a sneak peek of the show at rehearsals in Toronto.

Drawing inspiration from both the live-action film and the 1992 animated classic, the new musical will take all the beloved characters and songs you know and love and bring them to life on stage with the use of intricate costumes, innovative puppetry (just wait 'til you see Lumiere and Cogsworth!), and high-tech theatrical elements. One of the most jaw-dropping elements will be the stunning HD projections which will magically transform the set from locations like Belle's provincial French town to the Beast's enchanted castle. We're also loving how the show's creators have put their own unique spin on the framing of the story, opening the show with Belle's father's Maurice's music box and imagining that the story takes place within its walls.

We were lucky enough to see rehearsal performances of several major scenes, including the musical numbers "Belle", "Gaston", and the show-stopping "Be Our Guest". Even without the benefit of a full set and costumes, the amazing singing and dancing was enough to make us super excited for  the show's debut.  (We weren't allowed to film or take pics, so you'll just have to take our word for it!). "Be Our Guest" looks like it will be an incredibly immersive scene, with the costumes depicting all the flavours of a multi-course French dinner, from the savoury appetizers straight through to the decadent desserts. If you don't have time to eat dinner before the show, you'll definitely be starving afterwards!
