Actress Sophia Vergara is in the process of freezing her eggs. She opens up about what's involved and her reasons for doing it.
Sofia Vergara has confessed she's freezing her eggs.
The 40-year-old Modern Family actress shares the news in the latest issue of Vogue Magazine. "I have to be careful what I eat because they’re freezing my eggs!” she tells the mag.
“Hormone pills, and then after that it is hormone injections," she explains. "They want to get as many eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they’re not good."
"They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones," she adds.

And why is Sofia freezing her eggs? Because she wants to have a child with her fiancé, businessman Nick Loeb, 37. While she has a son from her (very brief) first marriage — Manolo González, 21 — Nick is still young and doesn't have any kids.
"My boyfriend is 37, younger than me, never had kids," she says.
As for Manolo, Sofia says he's been waiting a long time to have a younger sibling.
"Sometimes he used to scream at me when he was younger: 'Why can’t you have another baby, so you can stop focusing on me?'" she laughs.
What do you think? Would you ever consider freezing your eggs?
