Shakira confirms pregnancy and new role as judge on The Voice

It's official now — Shakira is pregnant!

The 35-year-old two-time Grammy award winner and her boyfriend, Gerard Piqué, 25, are expecting their first child. She confirmed the pregnancy on her website yesterday, and announced that she was cancelling some gigs because of it:

As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days.

This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival, but I’m sure this weekend in Las Vegas will be spectacular and I will be closely following everything that happens there!

She goes on to thank Clear Channel and her fans for being awesome and understanding — "Big kiss!"

But wait! There's more! 

Any of you watching The Voice? LOVE! Well, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo are taking a break from the show, alas. (It totally will not be the same — mostly because we'll miss Cee Lo's exotic pets — but at least Adam Levine will still be there for us to look at.) Christina's going on tour, and Cee Lo's working on his music and creating his own sitcom. And, this just in, they'll be replaced temporarily by none other than a very pregnant Shakira and Usher.
