Sarah Michelle Gellar returns to All My Children

Sarah Michelle Gellar -- who has a daughter Charlotte Grace (22 months) with hubby Freddy Prinze Jr. --  is returning for a cameo on All My Children, the popular soap opera that started it all for her.

As you may have heard, ABC is cutting costs by cutting All My Children as of September 23rd. Sad!

"When I heard that the show was cancelled, I didn't understand," Sarah told UsMagazine.com. "It just doesn't make any sense to me. So I called [the] . . . and said I wanted to do something. I just wanted to be a part of it. I have no idea what I'm going to do, so we can take suggestions, but I will be doing one day. I'm excited!"

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star rose to fame in 1993, when she played Kendall Hart Lang on All My Children. When she returns for her cameo, she won't be playing Kendall. We'll have to wait and see what they come up with.

Ooo! And this just in! Josh Duhamel is also reclaiming his role on All My Children as con-artist Leo de Pres -- starting TODAY (Thursday)!

And watch out for James Franco, who's reprising his role as artist/serial killer Franco on General Hospital, September 30!
