Nick and Vanessa Lachey are expecting their first child!

Hmm..., I wonder if the press is going to say Vanessa got pregnant because Nick's ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, is pregnant. Didn't they do that when Jessica got engaged shortly after Nick and Vanessa got engaged...? Remember that?

Anyway, whatevs! Congrats are in order: Vanessa Lachey (née Minnillo), 31, is preggers! She and hubby, Nick Lachey, 38, confirmed the news on Live! with Kelly, while Nick was co-hosting just this morning! Apparently, Vanessa is due end of summer/early fall.

As Nick explained, Vanessa came home one day, "started to feel a little different, not herself.... So she went to the store, got a pregnancy test, and it came back positive. So we are having a baby!”

"The fact that it’s actually here," Nick went on to say, "it’s overwhelming.”

Nick and Vanessa don't know the sex of the baby just yet, but the "definitely want to know,” Nick told Kelly. “I can’t take the knowledge that someone out there knows, but I don’t know. It’s like watching a sports game on TiVo.”

This will be the first child for Nick and Vanessa, who tied the knot back in July 2011.
