Barely two weeks after the birth of Maxwell Drew, Jessica Simpson announced to the world that she will be tending to yet another new project: a vintage-inspired maternity line, simply entitled Jessica Simpson Maternity.

The singer/actress/designer already has a popular clothing line for Macy’s featuring bold prints and flirty feminine pieces at relatively affordable prices. Macy’s will carry the Simpson’s new line, with the addition of two other online retailers: Destination Maternity and Motherhood Maternity. According to a press release and People, this new undertaking will include “breezy, everyday pieces aimed at the modern mom-to-be who wants to maintain her fashion edge throughout her pregnancy.”

We all know that Jessica definitely maintained her fashionista-ways while pregnant, always pictured wearing the highest heels possible and proudly showing off her baby bump (and maybe that was the reason I thought her pregnancy was three years long), so it’s good to know that she will be tailoring this new line to the fashion-conscious moms-to-be like herself.

Pictured are some of Jessica’s more popular outfit choices during her pregnancy. I think she usually had some pretty good style, although I still don’t understand that maxi dress that is half one stripe-pattern and half another.

Her current line is really cute, so I can expect only good things from this new endeavour. I wonder whether she’ll design maternity-friendly heels as well.

What do you think? Do you think more moms-to-be should be as fashion-forward as Jessica (and, presumably, her new line), or do you think pregnancy is a time to be comfortable and heel-free?
