Our sister publication Flare Magazine published a fab article on 31-year-old singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado in their July 2010 issue.

A Victoria, B.C., native, the apparently "fast-talker" Furtado is finally coming out with her "hotly-anticipated next album...tentatively titled Lifestyle" -- among other things, like appearing in the movie Score: A Hockey Musical with Olivia Newton-John.

Among her many inspirations, Furtado adores Lady Gaga. "Lady Gaga," she says,

is keeping pop music alive....She's raised the bar so much -- including how much thought you put into the presentation of music and how interesting a video can be. That's what keeps the gears going in the music business. Could you imagine what it would be like without her now?

She also adores her family. Furtado's married to Demacio Castellon, the sound engineer for her Loose album. Her daughter Nevis (6), Furtado says, is

full of life and has a very strong will....She's got cool musical tastes too -- the other day she corrected me and said, "I knew about MGMT before you!"
