Michael Buble on becoming a father

As you know, Canadian crooner Michael Bublé, 37, and his wife, Argentine model/actress Luisana Lopilato, are expecting their first child this August. In the latest issue of Hello! Canada Magazines, Michael opens up about fatherhood, his love (and like) for Luisana, how he learned she was pregnant, and more — and we've got snippets! Check it out:

On fatherhood:
“It’s the thing I wanted more than anything else — with the person I wanted it with."

On finding out his wife was pregnant:
“The first words out of my mouth were, ‘My mom and dad are going to kill you!’ because they weren’t there. I was so excited.... I hugged her so tight I probably knocked the wind out of her. It was the greatest moment of my life.”

On loving and liking his wife:
“I love my wife, but I like her. I really like her. She’s fun and tough and frustrating and challenging and wonderful and compassionate and empathetic. She’s my family.”

On how the baby news changed him:
“When I found out that I was going to have a baby, so many of the things that I was afraid to do just melted away. I was like ‘You know what? I don’t care what people think. I’m going to be free and have fun.’”
