Katie Holmes takes Suri to Whole Foods (funny photo!)

Check out Katie Holmes, 33, and six-year-old Suri Cruise at the Whole Foods market.

It was one of several stops in Katie and Suri's busy day in the sweltering NYC heat yesterday.

They started their day at Chelsea Piers, where Suri enjoyed her regular gymnastics class.

Then they went to Whole Foods and bought healthy stuff, like strawberries, peppers and celery, and gross stuff, like the mystery item Suri put in the grocery cart, next to her dolly (scroll down for the funny photo!)....

After all that grocery shopping, they stopped at Starbucks. Suri was soooo tired, that, of course, Katie had to carry her into their apartment.

While Katie and Suri are hanging out in NYC, Tom Cruise, 49, has been filming Oblivion in Iceland. He reunited with the family for a bit to promote his latest musical-flick, Rock of Ages, but, alas, it's kind of been tanking in the box office.
