Jennifer Lopez vs. Marc Anthony: It's war (and I'm not surprised)

Things don't look so amicable between Jennifer Lopez (42) and Marc Anthony (43), who separated in July after seven years of marriage.

Why all of a sudden?

Two words: CASPER SMART. And I have to tell you, after introducing him to you the other day, I am not surprised that the war between JLo and Marc Anthony IS ON.

See the thing that we didn't talk about when we met young Casper was that Marc doesn't want him around 3-year-old twins Max and Emme. In fact, he's even banned Casper from driving the twins in the Bentley JLo gave him (see photo!). When I heard that, I knew things weren't good.

Then Marc apparently flipped out when Casper was spotted bonding with Max and Emme in Kauai, Hawaii. Eeek!

Anyway, custody arrangements seemed to have been decided months ago: JLo was given primary custody of the twins. But a source for Us Magazine says Marc's "going back on his word" and seeking "joint custody."

But can you blame Marc? Honestly I can't.

While the source says Marc's motives for seeking joint custody have everything to do with "mak[ing] Jennifer suffer because she's having fun with someone new, and he knows this will hurt her on the deepest level," I have hopes that he has a better motive: to spare his kids more heartbreak and give them at least an iota of the stability you'd think they'd need after their parents only recently split.

Look, JLo can go ahead and date whomever she wants, but this is extremely public, and already they're vacationing together. Is it really fair to the kids after what they've been through? And shouldn't JLo be doing what she can to keep things amicable with Marc (no matter how controlling people say he is)? What about the kids? WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS? That's all.

I'm a huge JLo fan, so I'm even BIASED here. What do you think, Gorgeouses?

Another source for Us says JLo's out for blood: she's  "ready to smash him if he tries anything…It's getting vicious."

Just. What about the kids?
